Cartagena to US Kudos
I also wanted to forward on a note we received from
the US Embassy that they received from the Consular Services. Of course,
the government doesn’t always get everything right or give credit where it’s
truly deserved but it was nice that they recognized everyone’s work. You
folks are really an important part of what they are talking about so you should
feel good and also take credit. As Robin Busse said, it was really what
is done normally for any patient.

Subject: Kudos for Bogota ACS and Wardens for Excellent Work on a Medical Evacuation
After traveling to Colombia on a cruise ship, the U.S. citizen suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in Cartagena on December 13. They learned of the case via a mutual friend and were on the scene almost immediately, where they utilized their professional and personal contacts to assist the patient and her family. I was pleased to hear of the empathy and kindness exhibited as they assisted the U.S. citizen and communicated regularly with the family. Their descriptions of the care facilities and medical evacuation process. along with photographs, were no doubt of great comfort during a difficult time.
Provide updates and facilitate the U.S. citizen’s medical evacuation to the United States. Because of
frequent updates, we were able to report up-to-date, positive information at every step along the way.
